The Oregon Conference of Seventh-day Adventists is hosting our 59th regular constituency session.
This session will be held on Sunday, September 18, 2022. This is an open meeting and will be livestreamed.
In order to ensure equal representation, only official delegates are allowed to participate and vote.
On September 18, tune in here below, or on our YouTube channel, to watch the livestream.
It will also be available to view after the event has ended.
Below is a list of pertinent documents related to session business that delegates and members can download and view.
Registration begins at 8:15 am on September 18, 2022 in the hallway of Portland Adventist Academy. Please sign in at the table corresponding to your last name's first initial. Your name tag will identify you as a delegate.
Please bring your Constituency Session booklets with you. Some enclosed materials will be presented to the body of delegates for review and/or approval.
As required by the Articles and Bylaws, the agenda for this constituency meeting has been approved by the Executive Committee (see page 3).
Lunch will be provided for delegates.
There will be no designated seating areas for churches. Church delegations may wish to sit together to facilitate discussion, however.
Delegates should refrain from applauding speeches.
SPEAKING TO ISSUES
Only delegates will be allowed to speak to the session. Delegates wishing to speak to the session shall come to a microphone and identify themselves by name and church. A delegate should speak only once to a given issue or motion unless called upon for clarification of a statement. A limit of two (2) minutes will be placed on all speeches and motions. If the delegate who is speaking needs to ask a question, or for a point of information, timing will be paused. A timer will indicate when the two minutes has concluded.
MAKING A MOTION
Any motion or amendment may be ruled out of order if not made at a microphone. Only privileged or incidental motions may be made on the floor if recognized by the chair. Every motion and amendment is to be submitted in written form at the desk of the recording secretary and should include the name and church of the delegate proposing such motion or amendment. Motion cards are included in your packet.
Electronic voting devices will be issued to delegates at registration.
