Q/A Session to follow

The religious people of Jesus’ day could not hear the cry of the heart of the tax collectors and prostitutes. Jesus did. The Christian church today struggles to hear the cry of the heart of the LGBTQ+ community. Jesus hears their cry. Just as the tax collectors and prostitutes needed to hear the gospel, so does the LGBTQ+ community. There will be those who will respond to the gospel, if they have the chance to hear the gospel, and then be loved and discipled by a Bible believing church.

Christians of today rarely come from the LGBTQ+ walk of life. We do not understand this community. We do not know how to present the gospel to them or to disciple them. However, we are commissioned to take the gospel to all in our community. Is it not time for the heralds of the gospel to learn to love and reach even these?

Ron Woolsey, speaker/director of The Narrow Way Ministry, and Wayne Blakely, speaker/director of Know His Love Ministries, lived for years in the LGBTQ+ culture. They both came from Christian homes. No one in their families or churches understood what they were dealing with in their personal lives. There was no one to talk to, no guidance, no encouragement. The church had no healing for them. Out of the church they went empty but found no fulfillment in the LGBTQ+ lifestyle. Just as Jesus did not give up on Mary Magdalene, He did not give up on Ron and Wayne. They found healing of the heart when they understood the gospel and received the love of God into their lives.

The presentations of Ron and Wayne afford an opportunity for the church to gain insight into the mind of the LGBTQ+ community and how to present the gospel in a way that reaches their hearts. Just as the tax collectors and prostitutes of Jesus’ day wanted salvation from sin and sinning, so too are there those in the LGBTQ+ community of our day who also want salvation from sin and sinning. It is imperative that we as representatives of Christ learn to understand them, to love them, to disciple them.

Your church, or members of your church, may have contacts within the LBGTQ+ community. Invite them. Come with them. Walk the path of rebirth with them. Support and disciple them as they grow up in Christ. The weekend event will be held at Grants Pass Adventist Church, located at 1360 NE 9th St in Grants Pass, OR 97526.
