Bethany Edmundson Teaching-Principal of the Year

Bethany Edmundson Teaching-Principal of the Year

First known as “coach,” Bethany won the hearts of students and families through her enthusiastic love and heart-warming encouragement as a PE teacher at Journey Christian School (JCS). Plunging into her new role of teaching-principal, Bethany has not skipped a beat. No matter how many hours she works, or how many projects she is tackling, every person who walks into JCS is greeted by her wide smile and gracious heart.

Bethany’s relationships with her teaching staff, constituent churches, families and school board reflect her open spirit and ability to draw people through leadership. Working collaboratively with her staff, Bethany has led school-wide projects in health and is implementing school-wide restorative practices. With a constant growth mindset and an instinct for handling whatever comes her way, Bethany continues to raise expectations for JCS and her students.  Having just recently repainted and redecorated the entryway at JCS, families are now drawn in through literally the warm atmosphere and the warm culture Bethany has established.

Bethany was presented Oregon Conference Teaching-Principal of the Year 2019 for her exemplary leadership, unending enthusiasm for growth, and her dedication to Jesus and all of His children.
