GC Releases New Unity Statement

The General Conference (GC) administrative committee publicly released a document this week which recommends steps to address church entities not in compliance with the actions of a General Conference Session, the GC Executive Committee, or working policy. This document will undergo additional discussion before the topic is once again addressed at this year’s Annual Council in October. Initial member reactions have been mixed, with some supportive of the proposed process, while others are concerned over perceived steps toward a more hierarchical church structure.
