Gene Heinrich Academy Administrator of the Year

Gene Heinrich Academy Administrator of the Year

Just two years ago Pastor Gene was a beloved pastor in the Oregon Conference, serving on various Oregon Conference, NPUC and NAD committees, while enjoying his mission and place in God’s ministry. When asked to consider becoming an academy principal he said, “That is something I have never considered, but I will pray about it”. Two days later he was still thinking and praying about it, and feeling God leading him to a new adventure in ministry. Pastor Gene, who is now in his third year as principal of Columbia Adventist Academy (CAA), has been chosen as Administrator of the Year in the Oregon Conference. He was chosen for this award for his active involvement in the lives of his staff and students.

Pastor Gene has been a real blessing to the students, staff, pastors, and community of CAA. His passion for serving fits perfectly with training and inspiring young people to live a life connected to Jesus. If you visit his campus you will most likely find Pastor Gene in the hallways talking with students or in the classrooms excitedly teaching today’s lesson. Most days after school you will find him at a student sporting event, leading his students in rock climbing, or involved with student leadership training. One of his favorite activities is to intentionally sit down with each student and have a meaningful discussion about their goals in life. Besides being a friend and mentor, Pastor Gene has as his goal to see each of his students have a real life-changing relationship with Jesus – to have each student know that Jesus is their personal friend.
