Long-time Oregon Conference Women's Ministries Director Passes Away

We honor the life and legacy of Corleen Johnson, former Women’s Ministries Director for the Oregon Conference, who fell asleep in Jesus on Saturday, May 23, 2026. She now rests in the blessed hope and awaits the sound of that great big, beautiful trump on Resurrection morning.

Corleen married the love of her life, Paul Johnson, in 1970 and was a devoted mother to Beki and PJ. Her life was lived fully for Christ — joyfully, faithfully, and with a heart for service.

A gifted musician and songwriter, Corleen shared her love for Jesus through music and formed the group 4Praise in 1997. She was also one of the first Women’s Ministries directors in our denomination, serving from 1994 to 2008 in the Oregon Conference. She often said, “These 14½ years ministering to the women of the Oregon Conference have been the richest spiritual years of my life.” In 2009, she received an award for excellence in ministry from the North American Division. Oregon Conference Women’s Ministries ignited Women’s Ministries in the North American Division and maybe even further.

Corleen will be deeply missed. We are grateful for the legacy of love, leadership, and Spirit-filled ministry she leaves behind. May the life she lived inspire each of us to love and serve God’s people a until we see her again, one day soon.

A Memorial Service will be held for Corleen at Gladstone Park Adventist Church on Sunday, August 30, 2026, 1:00 PM.
