The Oregon Conference of Seventh-day Adventists is pleased to announce the appointment of two key leaders to its office staff: a new undertreasurer and an associate superintendent for education.
Joining the Oregon Conference from her current position as vice principal for curriculum at Forest Lake Education Center in the Florida Conference, Stephanie Cooper will begin serving in her new role as OC associate superintendent for education later this summer. Stephanie’s credentials include a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Southern Adventist University, a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction: Mathematics Instruction K-14 from Concordia University, and a wealth of experience leading educational cohorts and mentorship programs for educators. “I have appreciated Stephanie Cooper’s leadership for many years,” shared Oregon Conference Vice President for Education, Ron Jacaban. “She has roots in the Pacific Northwest and her professional expertise will be highly valuable for us here in the Oregon Conference. I love her passion for learning, her curiosity, and her skill in understanding each situation and finding creative, effective solutions that meet the diverse needs of each community she serves.”
The Oregon Conference Treasury department is also celebrating a much anticipated undertreasurer, a role vacated several months ago, with the appointment of Horacio Hernandez-Ble. Horacio has served for a number of years as undertreasurer for the Pennsylvania Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, as well as serving in previous roles as audit staff for the General Conference Auditing Service and director of finance at Mile High Adventist Academy in Colorado. Horacio’s credentials include a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Financial Management and Accounting from Southern Adventist University as well as certification from the North American Division in planned giving and trust services. “Our team has been running without an undertreasurer for quite a while and they have all been picking up pieces of the extra workload,” explained Eric Davis, vice president for finance. “Horacio has already served as a conference undertreasurer for a number of years. He has good ideas and processes to bring here with him and I think his leadership will be invaluable for our team here in the Oregon Conference.”
These appointments mark a significant step forward in the Oregon Conference's mission to lead with excellence and prayerful efficiency. Please join us in welcoming Stephanie and Horacio - and looking forward to the difference their leadership will make.
