The Eugene Adventist Church recently held two workshops demonstrating the benefits of using Natural Remedies to address many health concerns we experience today. Some of the therapies demonstrated have been used by practitioners for decades––even back to Biblical times.
The recent classes, held January 18 and February 22, were sponsored by the Eugene Adventist Church Women’s Ministries and Health Ministries departments, and both workshops were facilitated by the church Women’s Ministries team.

Both classes saw a great turnout. The January class demonstrated hydrotherapy, how to use activated charcoal, and the various uses of comfrey for relief of pain and inflammation. The February class demonstrated the use of castor oil to boost immunity, and to aid in skin and wound healing. Additional topics included the use of St. John’s Wort to aid the healing of scrapes and bruises; and dandelion flowers, roots and leaves, which are known to be beneficial for lowering blood pressure, improving digestion, and as an antioxidant.
Both classes were interactive, encouraging attendees to participate in demonstrations and ask questions of the presenters. A tempting array of appetizers were also available at each meeting, and gift bags containing some of the demonstrated products were raffled off as well.
The church is planning more workshops and seminars for this year including, another Natural Remedies Workshop, a seminar on identifying and preventing fraud, and a class on the benefits of fasting. More information on upcoming classes will be shared on the Eugene Adventist Church website at eugeneor.adventistchurch.org/ and at www.OregonAdventist.org
