We are sad to share that Dale Beaulieu, longtime Treasurer and minister of the Gospel for the Seventh-day Adventist Church, passed away on August 7, 2026. A memorial service will be held on October 11, at 2:00 PM at the Sunnyside Adventist Church in Portland, Oregon.
Dale Richard Beaulieu was born in Bend, Ore., on July 8, 1938, to Clyde and Ruby Beaulieu. His siblings were older brother Frank, and younger brothers, Paul and Leon.
Dale attended Columbia Adventist Academy (CAA), was the ASB president his junior year and class president his senior year. He attended Walla Walla College, was the president of his graduating class, and was active in the alumni association for his class for many years. He married Lorene Jennings from Longview, Wash., who also attended Columbia Adventist Academy. They had three children, Richard (Rick), Joanne, and Denis.
He served the Seventh-day Adventist church for more than 41 years in Treasury, Trust Services, and Administration. His church service began in Portland, Oregon as assistant auditor for the North Pacific Union Conference (NPUC). In his own words, he would spend “41 years helping schools, conferences, unions, and Adventist World Radio work out programs that would keep them in the black and make sure the ‘work of the Lord’ was financed. It’s been such a great blessing in my life.” His work for the Lord would lead him and his family to many fields of service:
- Laurelwood Academy, Ore. – assistant treasurer
- Gem State Academy, Idaho – treasurer
- Blue Mountain Academy, Pa. – treasurer
- Potomac Conference, Va. – under treasurer
- Mountain View Conference, W. Va. – secretary/treasurer
- Chesapeake Conference, Md. – secretary/treasurer
- Columbia Union, Md. – treasurer
- Southeastern California Conference, Calif. – treasurer
- Southeast Asia Union Mission, Singapore – treasurer
- Southern California Conference, Calif. – under treasurer
- Upper Columbia Conference, Wash. – treasurer
- Atlantic Union Conference, Mass. – treasurer
- North Pacific Union Conference, Ore. – trust services
- Oregon Conference, Ore. – treasurer
- Columbia Union, Md. – treasurer (2nd time)
- General Conference, Md. – Adventist World Radio VP/treasurer
He officially retired on September 30, 2003, from Adventist World Radio, and returned to Portland, Ore., to live out the rest of his retirement years. But God wasn’t finished with him yet. Dale was asked to serve as interim treasurer for the Oregon Conference, and then as auditor, then lead auditor. He also did some auditing for the Arizona Conference when he and Lorene would “snow-bird” to Lake Havasu City during the winters.
His parents and siblings all preceded him in death, as well as his wife Lorene of 66 years who passed away in 2023. He is survived by his children Rick (Jacque), Joanne (Bruce), and Denis (Tracy), and his grandchildren Wesley Dale, Kelsey Renee, and Denis Dean Jr. (“DJ”).
Dale said to his CAA classmates on the occasion of their 50th class reunion, “I want to say that we have a wonderful church organization that was planned for us by the ‘little prophet’ through her listening to instructions given her by God, and our schools, church, and work around the world is flourishing and is alive, reaching out to every country and jungle of the world with the hope and love of Jesus and His soon return! Wow, what a privilege we have to share in spreading His love to a dying world. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for allowing me and my family to have a part in this great controversy… When you are on the winning side, you have nothing to fear in life.”
