As technology and digital devices become more and more deeply embedded in the lives of most Americans, a group of Adventists between the Umpqua Valley region and the neighboring Oregon Coast have been working to provide a unique offline experience that reconnects kids with nature, each other, and Jesus.

If you happen to walk out the front doors of the Adventist Health Portland hospital on a Tuesday afternoon this summer, you might be surprised to see an array of healthy, delicious produce for sale nearby.

It was a busy weekend at Gladstone Park, filled with kids activities, Snack Shack tasty treats, a fundraising car wash, ABC summer sales and more!

Last month, Pastor José was commissioned as a Navy chaplain – a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy working with the Navy Reserves.

“I always want to make sure that what I share is affecting people’s lives on Monday morning. When I think about ending a message I think, ‘What’s the big idea? What can we do with this? How can we integrate this into the mess of our world? How does it work in daily life?’” It was from this line of thinking that Journey Adventist Church began to change the way they did things just a few short years ago.
