After 11 years of faithful ministry in the Oregon Conference, Dr. Kara Johnsson has announced that she will be transitioning from her position as Oregon Conference Vice President for Administration to a new role leading the department of Philanthropy at Adventist Health at the end of September.

Taken to a vote, a solid majority of 62.6% of NPUC delegates at session voiced their support for a motion to allow local conferences to submit names for ordination without reference to whether the candidate is male or female. In short, it allows conferences to recommend both men and women for ordination.

On August 1st, the Sharon and Your Bible Speaks Seventh-day Adventist Church families came together to celebrate the installation of their new lead pastor, Elder Rodney Valentine.

This year’s early June Adventurer Camporee at Gladstone Park took the opportunity to show how Sabbath can be fun, inspiring, and something to look forward to.

A beloved leader recently retired after nearly 20 years of service at Clark County Adventist Community Services. Eleanor Hetke served as a volunteer and eventually as the center’s executive director until her retirement this year –  just before turning 90 years old!

We are so grateful for the years of service and care that Matt Ballard has invested into this church family. Though he has officially retired as Grounds Manager, you’ll still catch him working around Gladstone Park a few days a week. Say hi and thank him for the difference he’s made!

Former Oregon Conference Women's Ministries director, Corleen Johnson, passed away on Sabbath morning, May 23. During her time in ministry she helped ignite women's ministries across the NAD.

The Oregon Conference team at Gladstone has recently spent a good deal of time celebrating retirements, welcoming new team members, and preparing to bid long-time coworkers farewell.

This year's event brought brilliant creative minds together to connect, learn from each other, and to find community in a space where modern content artistry met faith-based inspiration.
